I've owned a lot of acoustic guitars (Fender, Gretsch etc.) but I love this guitar. It handles beautifully, sounds great and the pickup and EQ are sufficient for the job. It suits me to the ground. If I buy a guitar that I start off loving, but later find something that doesn't feel right to me, I usually give it away to someone who WILL love it. I've done that so, so many times over the years because they are tools to me, and they have to perform right ALL the time. This guitar though, is my main acoustic. It just ticks all the boxes.

I'm rather new to guitars again. I played around 50 years ago and decided it was time to try again. I started with an Epiphone acoustic ($125). to my ears it sounded tinny. I saw this Yamaha for sale for 40 bucks. I bought it with the thought of reselling it. Took it to my local guitar shop for setup. Cleaning - dressing the frets (what ever that means), new strings. When I got it back I played with it for a week. The sound was so rich and full (I think guitar players call it "fat").
The Epiphone became history and I've never looked back. The Yamaha has a great sound to my ears and the action of an electric.
I did manage to take a few lessons - the instructor has a Martin and a Gibson the put my guitar to shame. However bang for the buck - the Yamaha is a winner. I would have paid 2 -3 hundred if I went to a guitar store. It would have still been worth it.
I hope that you found some answer in here as to why it is a nice guitar.

My main acoustic. They are easy to play, responsive and sound great. The controls are nicely placed to make on the spot tweaks to the sound and the unit as a whole is very satisfying. I played a Gretsch as my main acoustic prior to the Yamaha, but this is better.
