Probably an early one c.1970 - manufactured in acoustic and electrified 2-pickup versions c. 1969 - 1992 it seems, blonde and redburst or redburst-into-yellow finishes, single and triple dot fingerboards, newer curved scratchplate shape on later models.  Seem to be far fewer non-electric ones about, many owners adding their own floating pickups to get a real classic solid-top archtop sound.

(along with the Framus model AZ-10, the Hofner 477 seems popular with the Slovenian 'Oberkrainer' folk music scene).

A great guitar but spoiled by Hofner's insistence on narrowing string clearances sidewise, the further you proceed up the neck, i.e. a 42mm nut progresses at the opposite end of fingerboard to a less than practical 53mm width.  If only they'd made this model with the wider Hofner model A2L fingerboard width instead, but kept the original flatter radius........it would have been the perfect guitar!              Now,if ever there should be a re-issue - are you listening, Hofner ?
