The RICKENBACKER 1997 was a model made for export to the United Kingdom, when Rose Morris was the UK Rickenbacker distributor. It was the same as the popular model 330 (or 335 with vibrato) except it had an f-shaped (violin style) f-hole instead of the usual Rickenbacker slash-shaped sound hole. This difference made these guitars collectible.
