Wasburn MB8 manufacturing year?
Submitted by Mike on
Dear Sirs,
Just come across your website.
You have said that the Washburn MB8 Mercury series was manufactured in 1994?
I still have the receipt for my MB8 and it was bought in 1993. Just wondered what your thoughts on this might be?
Look forward to your reply MIke

Thanks Mike,
It's a mistake - it was discontinued in 1994 - I've fixed it now,
Nathan
Washburn MB8 Mercury Series Year

Hi Nathan.
Thanks for replying so quickly, I saw you have put the info right. Just to add something the MB8 that I own has a Serial No. starting with "92", so I would imagine that is the year of manufacture?
Just an interesting note, I've played all sorts of basses over the years, and also own a Precision which has been set up by myself, and plays very well.
With the exception of a Warwick "Thru Neck" Thumb Bass which I found really nice to play, the Washburn action with it's Elite strings Status Pick Ups, and the smooth slim and shallow Fender Jazz type neck, has never had me hankering after anything else.
Having said that, if I had a spare couple of grand I might nip out, (As you do) and buy a Warwick Bass to compliment my Warwick Cabs, or the Status Buzzard at about £4000. Keep dreaming eh? Thanks again Mike
