The Yamaha Pacifica 402S was the single cutaway version of the popular Pacifica series. The body was alder but had what Yamaha called a high definition finish top which looks like figured maple - whether this is a veneer or photoflame I'm not sure.

Make no mistake this is a high end guitar. Quality shines through everywhere. A short production run (96-99) meant the attention to detail was uppermost. Blows the socks off any Tele shaped guitar of the period including the ‘F’ word. I had mine modded with a 4 way switch. Groovy. Every Tele fan whose picked it up says it’s better than there one, including expensive!F’s’ Try one and you’ll be hooked.
