Michael Baskin founded Bashkin Guitars in 1996 in Colorado. Michael Bashkin has experience in teaching tropical forestry in Belize, Central America. Michael is also a scientist whose graduate studies at Colorado State University and post-graduate research at Duke University taught him about the mechanics of wood. He combines his technical knowledge of wood with instrument building expertise learned from luthiers as Ervin Somogyi and Harry Fleishman, to offer a range of acoustic guitars made using the world’s finest materials and a combination of traditional and contemporary methods.
