Noah James guitars was founded in 2004 in Pennsylvania by Jim Donahue, with a factory in Weifang China making electric guitars. They also planned to start US production by 2010. During the 1980s Donahue learned electric guitar making from the Japanese workers at Fuji-Gen Gakki in Matsumoto Japan. He worked as a custom shop builder before going to Korea to help move guitar production from Japan to Korea.
