1982$300excellentTony WhiteheadMy Alvarez Artist SLM acoustic guitar has a. Serial number of 000250 and is in excellent condition. Was wondering what it is worth. Put $300 down in form but I don't remember for certain Tony Whitehead 254-400-9900
1984$500newBody was damaged but was repaired.
2017$200excellentThe shop was asking for 250 but accepted my offer of 200. Included was a nice hard shell case plus strap and portable pickup.
2017$150goodTop looks more mahogany than Koa but there is little information on 5040 non-koa. Still beautiful. Sounds like a laminate top but has good loudness for a laminate (does not sound constricted like some laminates do but not as booming as a solid top). Treble tones tend to dominate.
1995$499.00newRonexcellent condition.. slight ding on backside edge
2014$0goodBrandon Carney
2018$200excellentJack HillWhat’s it worth in mint condition with original case out of curiosity it’s a amazing sounding and playing guitar I’ll give it that!!
2018$500excellentBobThis one has great tone and playability. I'm wondering why this Koa guitar was only produced for a limited time.
1998$375newI'm not positive about the price. It's been so long.
2018$400goodMike ThompsonI love the sound of this 1982 mij 5040, its 12/14/21
2018$675.00excellentH.L.M.This is a fantastic instrument: clear voiced, loud, and by that I mean a good fingerpicking instrument, and very beautiful. Why I like it: it has aged well, the tone has bloomed, and it is delicate but complex, not overly boom-y, records well, plays well acoustically. As a layered instrument it is nearly bulletproof, a great daily player, and gigging instrument. And it looks like no other sub $1200.00 out there. It is handmade, with a mother of pearl Alvarez logo on the headstock ....
2018$50.00excellentSuperAmp$50 bux with hard case, sound hole pickup, and an electronic tuner. Oh I couldn't choose 2023.

Alvarez model 5040 players

The guitarist in defunct bluegrass group Devout Sinners played this guitar. Powerful sounding resonance from that guitar. Similar to a Martin but a completely different timbre.
