Ordered one in 1979. Got a letter from Mike Longworth asking where I'd ordered it. Reason being I'd specified Grovers and the Martins then all came with Schallers. So I finally got it. Grovers. And a top from a D-45. Martin. Longworth. No Words.

Martin D-19 acoustic guitar

Production of the Martin D-19 began in 1976 and ended in 1988. The Martin D-19 was essentially a D-18 but with a dark brown stained top - from a distance it looks like a mahogany top but it's actually spruce. The other differences between the D-18 and D-19 were that the D-19  had a style 28 rosette, style 21 top purfling and an additional white/black purfling on the back.
