MARTIN manufactured the 00-45 between 1904 and 1938. Up until around 1920 production numbers were very low with less than ten 00-45s made per year. The style 45 guitars were the pinnacle of the Martin range with pearl inlays on all top edges and rosette as well as ivory binding and bridge. The specifications changed over the following years: for example in 1918 ivory binding was replaced by celluloid and the bridge was made from ebony. The great sound and intricate inlay workmanship make these style 45 guitars very collectible.
Martin reissued the 00-45 as the 00-45S 1902 - this guitar was based on one of the early prototypes for the 00-45 model - but is now discontinued.
