ALVAREZ 5037 WILDWOOD (12-STRING)

ALVAREZ 5037 WILDWOOD (12-STRING) acoustic guitar

The 5037 was a dreadnought style 12 string acoustic. The top was solid cedar (although this was changed to solid spruce from 1995 onwards). The back and sides are mahogany.The headstock has a rosewood veneer and 6-a-side tuners with amber tuner buttons. The nato neck has a rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlays, and a bird wing inlay on the 12th fret. The 5037 came in natural finish.

I don't know when the first 5037s were made, but they were in production by 1986. ALVAREZ discontinued the 5037 WILDWOOD 12-STRING in 1998.

ALVAREZ 5040 KOA

Alvarez 5040 Koa acoustic guitar

The Alvarez 5040 KOA acoustic guitar was introduced in the early 1980s and is now discontinued. These had distinctive figured Koa tops - which were laminated. Examples made around 1982 have a brass plaque on the back of the headstock with the serial number stamp which reads "ALVAREZ ARTIST, MADE BY ALVAREZ, COMMEMORATING THE 60TH ANNIVERSARY OF SLM (1922-1982)".

ALVAREZ 5032 TIMBER RIDGE

ALVAREZ manufactured the 5032 TIMBER RIDGE between 1994 and 1998. The Alvarez model 5032 (Timber Ridge) is a dreadnought shaped 6 string acoustic with a solid spruce top. Sides, back and neck are mahogany. The body has wooden binding, and there is a wooden inlaid soundhole rosette. There is a double A pearl inlay on the rosewood veneered headstock and a bird wing inlay at the 12th fret. The rest of the fretboard inlays are round pearl dots. It came in natural finish.
